PG-13

Driving to work today I heard an ad for a movie. The closing line said "May not be appropriate for children under 13". It made me think... Why 13? What automatically makes it appropriate for a child to see this movie when they turn 13 opposed to the day before when they were 12? What if the movie really isn't appropriate for a 14 year old but we have a bunch of 13 year olds watching it? Makes one think doesn't it? Ok maybe it makes me think, but when I'm in the car for an hour +... I have the time. Now go out and see a movie that is age appropriate.

Interesting point, but I don't see the problem. I know I miraculously matured overnight when I hit age 13...I guess you didn't?? :)

We constantly have to deal with Tay reading on the side of game boxes where it says 5 and up. He then tells trevor that he can't play cause he's not old enough. Tay got a game for his birthday that said for ages 7+. he will NOT play the game!! HAHA my little rule follower!!! So yah the age guidelines are funny!

if you changed it to 14 then people would wonder why not 15...you have to set it up somewhere. It's like being an adult at 18...are you really an adult?

I'm with Alison. I was an adult the minute I turned 13. However, I do wonder who makes these age appropriate rules. I guess they chose 13 because at age 12 you can still buy a child's ticket. Once you are old enough for them to charge you more you can watch whatever you want.
