Everett's 1st Easter!

As a parent I'm learning that holidays hold a whole new meaning. Everett's 2nd holiday was Easter. We celebrated it by giving his mom a card, a gift, and some candy. He also got a new outfit. He doesn't understand anything about anything right now (duh, he's only 6 weeks old), but it got me wondering how I'm going to make each holiday with him special. I want him to understand the true meaning of each one. Church was the highlight of our day today, we got him to service and he had a great nap. I pray that as he gets older he understands that although the candy is good and the bunny is cute, it's Christ's Resurrection that deserves the celebration. This is just one more responsibility I'm realizing that I have. One I greatly accept. I can't wait to balance and explain Christmas. lol. If your wondering if he got to hunt Easter eggs, remember he's only 6 weeks old. Maybe next year (or two). Have a great Easter and enjoy it with your family, I am!

I loved spending this Easter Sunday with you two! It was great. Can't wait til he is a little older and can understand the holidays better.

LOVE love love his outfit!! Holidays only get better every year! It's so awesome to see them get SOOO excited about things. Don taught Nate this year about the real meaning of Easter. When they're 2, they repeat everything so Don would ask, "What's Easter about?" and Nate would answer "JESUS!" Totally cool.

I just have to tell you, teaching the kids about the real meaning of the holidays isn't as hard as you would think.... they will see the way you guys live and know who it all comes from. We mention it to the boys but they know what is important in our lives as individuals and as a family so they desire to make everything about God. you know what is way awesome?.... the day you have what you think is just a simple day and they can't wait to thank God for it! now that to me is more important than the holidays that we "set aside". you will definitely have many tears of joy!!!
hope you guys had a great Easter!

Look at that baby! He is so adorable you guys!! Bella was finally old enough this year to actually participate in the Easter festivities and realize what she was doing. :) Although, Emily and I ended up dying pretty much all of the eggs... Oh well, maybe next year Cooper and Belle will be more interested...

Easter is awesome with kids...almost better than Christmas honestly. Enjoy it! (and try to get some sleep! LOL)
